Blocks 6, 7, 8, & 9 of 368
I decided to play with a paper pieced design that would travel across the quilt.
I took a flying geese circle pattern and drew it on an 8 inch square of stabilizer. Cut it into 4 4 inch squares and used those as a paper piecing base. For the blocks I used various melodious fabrics with the only common fabric being the white & black geese background.
Then. Each block was free motion quilted in different ways in the background fabric.
When the blocks are sewn into the overall quilt the circle will appear. I love the flying geese pattern SO much for the movement.
No doubt we will see more flying geese in later blocks.
