I do love the various star blocks creative people have come up with.  I decided to play with this design.  Instead of yellows or blues I elected to use this rich red.  It gives it a classic Christmas look I rather like.

I paper pieced the block then made the quilt sandwich.  The back fabric is a black/white in the same floral toile pattern as the white/red star.  This pattern calls for simple piecing; I elected to combine white and red echo quilting.  Simple and classy!
